PowerCon was jointly initiated by the Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering and IEEE PES in 1998. The conference is held every two years, alternating between China and Asia-Pacific countries, and enjoys a high reputation among international peers. In 2020,based on agreement between CSEE and IEEE PES, the event became an annual conference, that is, the conference be held annually in China and Asia Pacific countries.
PowerCon2023, the 15th in its series, sponsored by Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering and IEEE PES, hosted by Shandong University, supported by State Grid Shandong Electric Power Company and Shandong Society for Electrical Engineering, will be convened physically in Jinan, Shandong Province on 21-22 September, 2023.
Clean and low-carbon development has reached broad consensus around the world, a new power system is an important platform for energy transformation. With the development of a new power system, the energy and power industry is facing many new opportunities and challenges. It calls for more scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation, and multi-disciplinary and multi-field collaborative research.
The topics of the event cover nearly full range of power system. PowerCon2023 will feature tutorial sessions, plenary sessions, technical paper presentations and technical exhibition. The event aims to provide an open and inspiring multidisciplinary platform to share innovative ideas, solutions and results in New Energy Based Power Systems.
